CAR TRANSFER ASSESSMENT

The Car Transfer Assessment is undertaken by an Occupational Therapist and involves assessment of a persons ability to access a vehicle as a driver or passenger, covering the following areas:
- Physical ability, medical condition and prognosis
- Functional impairment
- Present vehicle
- Carers health and ability
- Lifestyle requirements
- Home situation
- Financial Options
There are a number of transfer aids at the Centre including an electric swivel seat, person hoist, transfer boards and other basic equipment and we have information on a wide range of other equipment and wheelchair accessible vehicles. Assessments are approximately 1- 1.5 hours.
